John Buckley: Doncaster Rovers forward Liam Mandeville reminds me of Teddy Sheringham
He did very well when he came on against Forest.
And by all accounts he had a similar effect on the game at Accrington Stanley.
That’s one goal and one assist to his name already this season and Darren Ferguson will be delighted to see him making such an impact.
I really like Liam as a player.

If he was to be given that run of games I could see him really growing in confidence and stature.
It’s not easy to come off the bench and get straight up to speed with the game, especially if you’re not playing any reserve team or under-21s football.
So he’s done really well.
What I like about him is that he’s composed on the ball. He doesn’t panic when he gets it, and he knows when to relax and be calm.

He’s come on twice now and slotted into an advanced midfield position but I can see him as a number ten, where he finds space and links up play.
I’ve got high hopes for Liam and this could be the season he really steps up and makes an impact at senior level.
If he gets the opportunities, he’s got to take them.
It was great for him to get his goal against Forest and I just wonder if he’s booked himself a ticket for Saturday? I hope so, I like to see the kids get their chance.
