Terrified residents feared for lives after 'petrol bomb' attack in Doncaster

Residents were evacuated from their homes in Ormonde Way, New Rossington, after a fire broke out in one of the mid-terraced properties at 5.10am today.
A petrol bomb is said to have been hurled into the house through a window.

Hide AdPosting on Facebook, the woman who lives in the house, said: “I have done nothing wrong to anybody to petrol bomb my house while I’m in bed asleep. Only just got out there alive. Scum bags.”
She added: “I was in bed, I couldn’t see for smoke, I only just got out. This is a joke, I’ve done nothing wrong to any one enough to try and kill me.”
A neighbour said she was evacuated from her home with her children because of fears the fire could spread.
She said: “It’s a mid terrace and my kids had to be evacuated to my mother’s because my house could have gone up too.”

Hide AdAnother neighbour said: “I’ve never been so scared in my life, it was horrible to see kids on the fronts in the freezing cold and scared it was going to spread to our houses."
A joint police and fire service investigation is under way.
South Yorkshire Police said: “Officers attended a property on Ormonde Way this morning, with South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue following reports of an arson attack.
“No one was injured during the incident and enquiries are ongoing.”
