Police reveal reports of breaches of ‘rule of six’ lockdown rules in Doncaster parks
and live on Freeview channel 276
With Covid 19 figures rising and new restrictions in place, we have been asked to enforce the rules. As before, our main aim is to engage with people and give advice. Enforcement will only be if absolutely necessary.
We are already getting reports of breaches.
We have had incidents that we have had to attend to give advice. One was a report of up to 20 people in the park at Edenthorpe near Mere Lane. We also had a report of a large group of children Thorne and Moorends.

Hide AdMonday September 14 saw us having to deal with a serious car crash on Tudworth Road, near Green Tree Cars, at Hatfield.
Someone unfortunately had to be airlifted to hospital after suffering significant, but not life threatening injuries. Three cars had been involved and two people were trapped, one in a Mercedes, and the other in a Seat Leon.
We had to close the road while the emergency services dealt with the incident.
In what was a busy week, we also saw a very rapid arrest after a farm was burgled in Hatfield on Friday, September 18.

Hide AdThe burglary was reported at 6am, and saw two quad bikes stolen. But the owner contacted us to tell us that one of the bikes had a tracker fitted, and it was telling him where it was by shortly before 7am.
With it traced to an address in Dunscroft, we sent officers to the scene, and by 7.15am the bike was found and one man had been arrested.
Last month, and in July, we saw a spike in burglaries in Hatfield. But after we put together an operation involving extra patrols, there has been a significant fall.
Sunday September 13 saw a joint operation with our off road bike team, checking sites at Armthorpe pit top, Edenthorpe Tesco field, Dunscroft, Stainforth pit top and Moorends pit top. We also spotted a stolen car, which had been taken in a burglary. It was tracked to a lane near Stainforth, where it was cornered. But it was set alight by the driver who fled.
