Police probe shooting and three car crash within hours on same Doncaster street

Chalmers Drive in Clay Lane has been the scene of heavy police activity throughout last night and today following two incidents just hours apart yesterday.
The shooting was the tenth in Doncaster since the end of March – and police are probing whether the latest attack is linked to an ongoing gang feud across the town’s streets which has seen a number of houses come under fire from gunmen.

Hide AdPolice were first called yesterday evening at around 6pm to reports of a collision in the street involving three vehicles.
It is reported that the occupants of two of the vehicles confronted each other brandishing weapons, before fleeing the scene on foot.
Later that evening, at around 10.30pm, police received further reports of shots being fired towards an address in Chalmers Drive.
No-one was injured.
The street was closed off near to its junction with Shackleton Road with heavy police activity reported by residents throughout last night and this morning.

Hide AdThe current wave of gang violence started on March 29 after a house in Broxholme Lane was attacked.
