Doncaster motorist caught drink-driving in Sheffield

Sheffield Magistrates’ Court heard on December 5 how Luke Davies, aged 28, of Denaby Lane, Old Denaby, was stopped by police after he had been seen driving at speed on Sheffield Road, near Attercliffe Common and Tinsley roundabout.
Kirsty Pearson, prosecuting, said police stopped Davies after they spotted his Audi pulling out at speed and overtaking vehicles.

Hide AdMechanical engineer Davies pleaded guilty to exceeding the drink-drive limit after he registered 68 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath following the incident on October 4. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
Davies told the court he had been drinking and had slept before going to McDonald’s for his girlfriend. He also apologised.
The defendant was fined £230 and must pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 costs. He was banned from driving for 18 months.
