Doncaster man assaulted police officer, threatened another and damaged vehicle when he was pulled over for suspected drink-driving

Adam David Chorlton appeared before Doncaster Magistrates’ Court on September 16 where he admitted criminal damage to a police vehicle, assaulting an emergency worker, threatening behaviour towards a police officer and failing to provide a breath specimen.
Chorlton was stopped by police in Doncaster on December 12 last year after they suspected him of drink driving, but he failed to provide a specimen of breath.

Hide AdRecords show that he then assaulted a police officer, threatened another and caused damage to the door of a police vehicle as he was arrested.
In a separate hearing, Chorlton, 34, of Princess Avenue, Stainforth, Doncaster, also admitted breaching a non-molestation order, when he visited an address he was forbidden from going to in the Thorne area of Doncaster on September 6.
He was given a 20-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay £150 in compensation and a £90 victim surcharge.
He was also banned from driving for six months and was issued with a two-year restraining order, preventing him from visiting the home of his former partner or contacting her in any way, other than through a solicitor to arrange child contact.

Hide AdAdditionally, Chorlton was placed on a 12-month community order with up to 25 supervision days with the Probation service, and must also complete 100 hours of unpaid work in the community.
