Doncaster's St Francis Xavier Catholic Primary School turns 90

Over the course of the past term, the children have been learning about the history of the school with each class working upon different focus including ‘School now and Then’, ‘Balby during the War’ and ‘Significant Individuals’.
The children have had the opportunity to interview former pupils from the school, visit Doncaster Museum and the town hall archives in order to learn about the history of the school.

Hide AdA spokesman said: “Parents and carers have been incredibly generous in sharing items of historical interest, photos and stories from the school’s past, some dating back to the 1930s.”
During their visit, guests were taken on a tour of the school in which two children from each class gave an explanation of what they’d been learning about and shared examples of their work.
They added: “Guests were very impressed by how articulately the children explained what they had learned and the quality of the children’s work.
"This event was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the work of those who have played such a significant role in the school’s history and to celebrate the wonderful work going on in the school today.”
