Jade set up a family tea shop doing afternoon teas back in May 2019. But less than a year later, the country went into lockdown as the pandemic arrived. But her Chase Tea Room on Wharf Street, Bawtry, had made enough of an impact to be voted the most missed eatery in the Visit Doncaster lockdown awards run last month.
Those who voted for her will have to wait a little longer before then can go back her her shop – but they’ll have the choice of Bawtry or Harworth when they do, as she is re-opening a shop in the neighbouring village. She had previously opened her Moreish Delights coffee house on Scrooby Road, Harworth, for only five days before Covid restrictions forced cafes to close last year.

Jade runs the cafe with her family, with even 11-year-old son Alfie helps out, and was delighted to be voted as ‘most missed’.
She said: “I started off making cakes and brownies, and took the plunge with the Chase Tea Rooms with my partner and my mum in May 2019.
“It was really nice to be voted as the most missed eatery and it meant a lot to us. We care about our customers and it’s something we pride ourselves on.

“We’ve been busy and we’ve been able to open another shop in Harworth. We were opening it in September, and had a week of trade.
“Afternoon teas have kept us afloat as takeaways. We don’t have any outdoor seating so we’re unable to open in April, but looking to open in May. I can’t wait.
"We’ll be a bit anxious because we’ve not been open at the Chase for some months so it’s a bit scary. But I can’t wait to see some friendly faces.”
