THERE'S nothing I like more than a good old pamper session - but these days, preening yourself can be pretty pricey!
So, imagine my delight when I discovered top of the range treatments at a fraction of the cost in a rather unlikely place.

Thanks to the new beauty facilities at Doncaster College there is truly something to suit everyone's taste and budget, from reflexology and Indian head massage to acrylic nails, facials and everything in between.

When I glanced atthe price list I couldn't quite believe what I was seeing. An indian head massage for a fiver, a full body massage for £7.50 and electrolysis sessions at just two quid a time! There must be some sort of catch.

I, like a lot of others in the office, and I assume in the area, had been under the impression that only students and college staff could take advantage of the services - but in fact everyone is welcome.

Budding beauticians studying at the college will perform the treatments as part of their training, so not only are you getting a fantastic treat you can also give yourself a pat on the back safe in the knowledge that you are helping the beauty therapists of the future succeed, so everyone's a winner.

And don't let the bargain basement prices fool you, the treatments, level of service and facilities are anything but bargain basement.

I genuinely felt like I was in a swanky salon when I walked in, with a steam room, jacuzzi and floatation device, along with spacious treatment rooms, nail bar and fully equipped hair salon it really has got it all.

Tina Mason, head of beauty at the college said: "You don't even get these facilities in some of the high street salons...it's fantastic."

My two beauty therapists for the day were Yasmin Waqar and Claire Riley, who are both 17 and in their third and final year currently studying spa therapy. While Claire set to work on my gel nail extensions priced at just £10 for a full set, Yasmin proceeded with my pedicure priced at £5. It was a pleasure to have two genuinely nice, enthusiastic girls performing the treatments. And while some may be put off that the girls are not yet fully qualified I can honestly say the outcome of both my treatments was just as good as in a normal salon.
I will definitely be returning to try out more treatments and at these prices there's just no excuse not to indulge.
