A new animated film featuring children’s favourites  Thomas & Friends, Tale of the Brave, arrives at Vue Meadowhall on Friday for a week’s run ahead of its DVD release on September 1.

Tale of the Brave marks the arrival of new characters Marion, Reg and an unusual engine called Gator.

After a monstrous storm on the Island of Sodor, a landslide unearths some giant footprints on the slopes of The Clay Pits. Thomas and Percy are eager to find out what could have made these marks but obstacles and danger seem to appear around every bend in the track.

With the help of new friends, a little digging, and a heap of courage, they discover the surprising answer and, along the way, uncover the true meaning of bravery

Mike Moraghan is the Narrator with Ben Small as Thomas and Olivia Colman is also among the voice cast.

Thomas the Tank Engine was created by a father for his son 69 years ago and today is enjoyed by families in more than 185 territories and in 30 languages.

The blue engine and his friends invite children to enter a world of imagination through the tracks of a train and the words of a story and experience timeless life lessons of discovery, friendship and cooperation along the way. Thomas & Friends have steamed to destinations worldwide from PBS KIDS®, Sprout® and Five’s Milkshake! and Nick Jr in the UK to CCTV in China.

Thomas & Friends is made by HIT Entertainment, one of the world’s leading pre-school entertainment whose portfolio includes Mike the Knight™, Fireman Sam®, Bob the Builder™, Barney®, Angelina Ballerina®, Pingu® and Rainbow Magic®.
