YOU’VE heard of 24 Hour Party People, 9 1/2 Weeks, and the Seven Year Itch - now there’s a movie set to be created in just 48 hours.

Doncaster film-makers Cal Johnson and Martin Bushby are to make a real quick flick this weekend when they attempt to create a five minute short in the space of just one weekend.

The pair, who run Bodyswerve Productions, will be taking part in the Sci-Fi London 48 Hour Film Challenge - and putting themselves up against the clock.

Director Cal said: “This is the first time we’ve participated in a competition like this, so there is a certain amount of trepidation and uncertainty as we draw nearer!

“We normally strive to be as organised as possible prior to filming, but this format involves us appreciating and readying ourselves for potential mayhem.

“It’s incredibly exciting though, and we can’t wait until it all gets started - and then for it to end, so we can get some sleep!”

Although the contest is based in London films do not have to be shot in the capital, and Bodyswerve will be racing around Doncaster as they attempt to write, rehearse, capture, edit and submit their entry before the Monday morning deadline.

At 10am on Saturday they will be sent an email detailing a prop they must use, a line of dialogue to include, and the title of the five minute movie.

Producer Martin said: “The Sci-fi London 48 hour Film Challenge is one of the biggest of its kind and this as a chance for us to have our work seen by an incredible panel of judges. It can be a giant leap on to future projects.”
