AN ANNUAL musical extravaganza will take place this Bank Holiday Weekend in the atmospheric grounds of Cusworth Hall.

Headlining this year’s Cusworth Festival are 80s mod band The Gents, who will be performing tracks from their acclaimed first album, How it all Began, and their soon to be re-launched second album, Waiting to be Seen.

Other performers at the popular event at the grade-one listed hall will include Acoustic Angels, Famous Villains, Stafford Galli, Whizzkid and Chris Madin.

Proceeds from the festival will support the work of the Aurora Centres in Doncaster, Mexborough and Bassetlaw, which aim to help and support local people who have been diagnosed with cancer.

One of the festival founders Trish Wood said: “Last year’s event was hugely successful, with over 2,000 people descending on Cusworth Country Park to attend the festival.

“The 2012 event is set to be even bigger and better and we hope to raise as much money as we can for the Aurora Centre, so I would encourage the people of Doncaster and surrounding areas to come along and have a fabulous time, whilst raising money for charity too!”

There will also be a whole host of activities on offer for all the family, including fairground rides and face painting.

Tickets will be £15, with tickets for children aged 12 to 16 costing £5. Children under 12 go free, but must be accompanied by an adult.

Gates open at 11am, with live music from midday until 10pm.
