American bluegrass is coming to the stage in Doncaster,

Railsplitters, from Colorado in the United States, bring their “fresh modern take on bluegrass” to Doncaster’s Roots Music Club this week.

A club spokesman said: “The five artists perform very accessible, high-quality music with irresistible harmonies.

“The band oozes individual talents that merge into intricate arrangements and beautiful vocals.

“The innovative Railsplitters write collaboratively and all sing.

“Splitter Lauren Stovall especially delivers powerful, clean lead vocals and plays guitar. Peter Sharpe and Dusty Rider masterfully mesmerize on the mandolin and banjo. Newest member Christine King drives the sound with fine fiddling, while Leslie Ziegler supports on upright bass with flair and passion.

“The Railsplitters are pushing bluegrass forward with an adventurous spirit, carrying the tradition of breaking boundaries with their unconventional style.”

The Railsplitters play The Roots Music Club, the Ukrainian Centre, Beckett Road, Doncaster, on Friday, April 22, from 7.30pm. Support comes from James Haigh.

Tickets are £12 on the door, or £10 in advance from www.rootsmusicclub.co.uk
