But what makes this tour different from recent ones, is the band has a new album out, and will be playing tracks from it in their set, writes Martin Hutchinson.

And guitarist Tom McGuinness says the new songs have been well received.

“The reception has been fantastic,” he says.

The band – famous for hits such as Pretty Flamingo and Do Wah Diddy Diddy – will be fronted by original lead singer Paul Jones on the tour, which means they will concentrate on their earlier material in the show.

“We’ll concentrate on the early stuff, but will play a lot of the hits as well as a few tracks off the new album,” says Tom.

“It will be a great night, as Paul always gets the audience going and it’s great hearing them join in all the songs. We really do have some great fans.”

The Manfreds will be appearing at Cast, Waterdale, Doncaster, tomorrow, Friday, March 24. For tickets, priced from £20, visit Cast in Doncaster
