A YOUTH jazz group is celebrating after securing funding help.
Doncaster Youth Jazz Association is one of several victims of the cuts announced by Doncaster Council with its annual support being cut to £28,000 having survived the possibility of it being slashed altogether.
That funding supports the maintenance of the Northern Jazz Centre in Beckett Road as well as part-time staff who in turn train and support almost 1,000 students a year to play in its four orchestras.
The association has received backing from Polypipe, which manufactures plastic piping and sanitary systems, and retired council chief executive Colin Jeynes as its first patron.
Further help is needed and interested parties should call the association’s direction John Ellis on 01302 320002 or email email@example.com
