A new cafe bar, which opened its doors this month has named its leading man as Matthew Piggott.
Mat, 41, is already cooking up a storm as chef manager of the Cafe Bar at Doncaster’s newest performance venue, CAST.
The Cafe Bar at CAST brings Mat into the heart of Doncaster town centre and gives him the opportunity to serve up culinary treats as the versatile venue will be a grab and go coffee lounge by day with everything from fair-trade coffee, freshly made sandwiches and afternoon tea and a meeting hub by night with craft brews from around the world, a selection of fine but affordable wines, and light bites and tapas.
Mat said: “We are delighted by how well the Café Bar at CAST has been received by people in the town.”
He added: “We’ve been working on a menu which will allow us to serve up wholesome food from local suppliers which will appeal to different tastes and audiences.”
“We will deliver special packages around show times at CAST but will open daily to attract shoppers and custom from local businesses.” With a wealth of experience in the kitchens and running venues Mat has worked as a head chef for many years and has previous delivered dishes at Yorkshire Wildlife Park.
Set to open its doors in Doncaster on September 6, CAST will showcase a variety of arts performances attracting local and national performers.
Chris Hone, head of commercial activity at CAST said: “We are delighted to welcome Mat on board. It is important for us not only to be sourcing our food locally but to be finding and harnessing local talent.
“He is already bringing his ideas to life crafting a menu which we know the people of Doncaster will enjoy.
“The Café Bar at CAST will be a great addition to the town centre offering and will offer seasonal food at its best.”
The Cafe-Bar will be open Monday to Friday from 7am until 7pm, and weekend opening will vary around show times.
