Armthorpe Parish Council is to host a Christmas Market on Saturday.

The event will be held from 1pm to 7pm at Armthorpe Community Centre.

There will be indoor stalls, gifts, a fun fair, a Santa’s grotto, balloon modelling, stilt walkers, refreshments, mulled wine and demonstrations from local dance and martial arts groups.

At 3pm there will be Christmas carols around the memory tree in the miners’ welfare garden, led by the Armthorpe Elmfield brass band.

Admission to the event is free. Proceeds raised from the £1 cards on the memory tree will go towards a local Alzheimer’s group.

Please note, there is no room for cars to park in the community centre car park due to the fun fair. Instead, visitors are asked to park in Tranmoor Primary School.
