Famous writer and former SAS soldier Andy McNab spoke to pupils about his life as a bestselling author during a visit to Armthorpe School.

Pupils from several schools were invited to see Mr McNab who spoke to a packed hall.

The highly decorated ex serviceman, who was captured during the first Gulf War, has written several books including bestseller Bravo Two Zero.

Visit organiser Lesley Hurworth, who is chairman of the Doncaster Children’s Book Awards, said Mr McNab was promoting his new teenage novel , titled The New Recruit.

Lesley added that Mr McNab also talked to the pupils about his life before becoming a writer and his work on several other titles.
