A dream trip to New York is up for grabs as fashionable females get set to battle it out in a bid to be named Best Dressed at Leger Ladies Day.
Women from across the region will be upping the style stakes to be awarded the Best Dressed Lady title at Doncaster Racecourse’s DFS Ladies Day on Thursday, September 11.
Raceday sponsors DFS are providing the star prize of a trip to the Big Apple in luxury accommodation for the second year running.
In addition to the holiday, the winning lady’s glamorous prize package will also include tickets to London Fashion Week, beauty products, shopping vouchers and an overnight stay.
There are also prizes up for grabs for the two ladies that are just pipped to the winning post on the day, as well as runners-up prizes for the ten finalists; nine of whom will be selected by ‘scouts’ on the day with the tenth being fast-tracked to the final line-up as a result of Doncaster Racecourse’s social media campaign #BestDressedSelfie.
The competition will be judged by representatives from leading fashion retailer Coast, The Crown Hotel and local hair salon The Vanilla Rooms who will whittle down the most stylish contenders to the final ten.
The final winner will be judged by DFS CEO Ian Filby.
The winner will be invited back to represent Doncaster Racecourse in Yorkshire’s Best Dressed Lady 2014 – taking place back at Doncaster on Racing Post Trophy Day Saturday 25 October.
Mark Spincer, managing director of Doncaster Racecourse, said: “DFS Ladies Day is the social highlight of the four day St Leger Festival with ladies from across South Yorkshire donning their most stylish outfits and hats and going all out to look their very best. We’re delighted that sponsors DFS are providing us with another fantastic star prize of a trip to New York which is guaranteed to be an added incentive for ladies to pull out all stops, get dressed up, enjoy a great day out at the races and have the chance of securing the coveted Best Dressed Lady crown.
“We’re grateful to all of the sponsors, judges and especially the ladies who ensure that the raceday continues to be one of the most glamorous and popular social occasions around. Ladies Day is one of the busiest racedays of the year at Town Moor, but tickets are still available so there’s still the chance to dress to impress and enjoy a great day out.”
