More names announced - bookmaker's favourite signs up to tour.
After wowing more than 750,000 people across the country in previous years with stunning ice performances, skating legends Jayne Torvill & Christopher Dean embark on a fourth live UK tour of Dancing on Ice which starts here in Sheffield on Thursday 8th April 2010 at the Sheffield Arena.
Bookies favourite to win Dancing on Ice TV series, Hayley Tamaddon has signed up to compete in the 2010 UK Tour!
The former Emmerdale star has announced she will take part in the Dancing on Ice UK Tour, which starts in Sheffield on Thursday 8th April. Other new names to the line up include actor Emily Atack, Footballer's Wives star Gary Lucy and actor Clare Buckfield.
The latest round of stars to sign up to the tour join other previously announced celebrities including Hayley's biggest rival, Boyzone's Mikey Graham (whose odds to win the TV show have crept up to 4/1), Gaynor Faye, Casualty's Chris Fountain and Ray Quinn. Singer and actor Ray was crowned the winner of the last series and won almost every night on the 2009 tour. Ex Corrie star Gaynor Faye was winner of the first series and Chris Fountain was a runner up in the series three. Emily Atack and Gary Lucy are both dancing in the current series. Clare Buckfield, best known for her role on 2point4 Children, took second place in the 2007 series of Dancing On Ice and took one of the highest scores in the show for a performance.
The format for the Tour is the same as previous years and as in the hit ITV1 show, the audience will be able to use their mobile phone to text vote for their favourite dancing couple. The votes will then be added to the scores from the Judges to decide the winner. Once the votes have been counted, the winning celebrity will join their skating partner to perform a magical finale. As with the previous tours, all profits from text voting will go to charity; more than 80,000 has been raised to date.
All of the celebrities will be trained and choreographed by Torvill & Dean, who will also perform on the tour.
At each performance the audience will have a chance to vote for their favourite skating celebrity. Replicating the format of the hit ITV1 show, they will be able to use their mobile phone to text vote for their favourite dancing couple. The audience votes will then be added to the scores from the Judges to decide the winner. Once the votes have been counted, the winning celebrity will join their skating partner to perform a magical finale. As with the previous tours, all profits from text voting will go to charity, more than 80,000 has been raised to date.
