Doncaster woman Katy Bateman is looking forward to competing in more television quiz shows after finishing runner-up in a Mastermind semi-final earlier this month.

Katy sat in the famous black chair to answer questions on the Red Dwarf science fiction series and got all 14 right.

But she was squeezed into second place after the general knowledge round, just three points behind the winner who goes through to the next stage.

Katy said: “I am a big fan of Red Dwarf so I knew I would do well, but I didn’t expect to get every question right.

“I didn’t really feel nervous until I heard the Mastermind music - that was when it all seemed real.”

Katy, aged 29, of Ryecroft Road, Norton, says she is now keen to appear on more quiz shows after enjoying her stint in front of quizmaster John Humphreys.
