A school girl from Skellow has won a spot at the regional final of a singing competition.
Outwood Academy pupil, Megan Carver, of Elm Road, will perform at the regional final of Open Mic UK at Sheffield City Hall on September 29.
The 14 year-old won her spot an open audition earlier this month with her self-penned song, Six Tight Strings.
Previous winners of the competition include X Factor finalists Lucy Spraggan and Jahmene Douglas, and if Megan makes it through to the next round she could win £5,000 and the chance to perform at the O2 arena in London.
Megan said: “I’m really excited to have been chosen, and I hope I make it through to the next round!”
