WATH on Dearne warmed up for Saturday’s RFU Senior Vase final at Twickenham with a Yorkshire Two win over hosts Yarnbury.
Wath ran out 19-7 winners to boost their hopes of achieving promotion.
They will need to win their final league match in two weeks time if they are to join Barnsley in Yorkshire One next season.
On a boggy pitch, Wath opened up a 19-0 lead by half time.
Simon Lines at second row opened the scoring with an early try, and others followed from fly half Martin Bray and No 8 Matt Burrows, both of which full back Anthony Barrett converted.
After the break the only score went to Yarnbury but it was not enough to challenge Wath, who take on West Leeds in their final league match.
Before then Wath on Dearne will be aiming to overcome South West outfit Wells in the final of the Senior Vase next Saturday.
The Twickenham final will be watched by several hundred Wath fans with 15 supporter buses preparing to make the journey south.
