I WAS delighted to see Doncaster Knights return to winning ways at Esher in last Saturday’s Championship game,

The final score of 29-20 flattered the home side as they scored a fluky try near the end when two of their defenders did their best to look like American Football line-blockers.

We scored four cracking tries in the process and the team’s performance was a vast improvement on the disappointment of the previous week.

The one thing that opened the eyes of our dedicated band of loyal supporters was the cost of everything from ground entry to beer and food. We certainly don’t know when we are well off!.

Sixth placed Knights have a hard month ahead of them with home Championship games against London Welsh (currently fourth) and Cornish Pirates (third) and an away one against local rivals Rotherham Titans (second).

Interspersed with these three games is a British & Irish Cup game away against Ulster in Belfast a week on Saturday. These are the level of fixtures that make Castle Park such an exciting place to be.

For this coming Saturday’s home game against London Welsh (KO 2.30pm), there is a special offer available called “Bring a Friend for Free”. Under this offer, anyone buying a ticket for the game will be entitled to a free ticket to the game for a friend (or two free tickets if you are a current season ticket holder).

So why not invite your mates to watch Doncaster Knights take on the Welsh in what promises to be a cracker of a Championship clash?
