DONCASTER Knights chairman Steve Lloyd is stepping down from the post with immediate effect but intends to continue his financial support of the club.

The wealthy local businessman is a former player himself and had been on the board of directors for around 20 years.

Club president Tony De Mulder will also now take on the role of chairman with local solicitor Paul Pennington becoming deputy chairman.

Mr Lloyd is moving to Guernsey and felt it was impractical to continue in the post because of the distance involved in travelling to meetings.
