CHRIS Hallam this week committed his future to Doncaster Knights - becoming Brett Davey’s first signing for next season.
The former Rotherham scrum half, currently sidelined with a shoulder injury, has penned a one-year contract extension at Castle Park.
He is the first player to sign on the dotted line for incoming director of rugby Davey, who will officially take over from Lynn Howells next month.
Davey said: “I’m absolutely delighted to secure the signature of Chris Hallam for Doncaster so early.
“Chris is a very experienced player and one who is well known to me.
“It gives me a head start for next season.
“As well as a high level of skill, Chris has shown a matching level of commitment to the Knights’ cause so this news will delight the fans as much as it has myself.”
Knights travel to Bedford Blues on Saturday in Pool B of the Championship promotion play-offs.
Doncaster must win if they are to have any realistic chance of reaching the semi-final stage.
