Doncaster Knights’ eight-year stay in the Championship is over after the club’s first ever relegation was confirmed on Wednesday night.
Clive Griffiths’ men battled bravely against high-flying Bedford, recovering from a 28-7 half time deficit to trail by just seven points at one stage.
But it was a case of too little, too late for Knights, who will play in the third tier of English rugby next season.
Doncaster, who have just three league wins to their name this season, host Plymouth Albion in their final Championship game on Saturday.
