DONCASTER Knights full-back Dante Mama is hoping to help the Championship beat the touring Maori All Blacks in tomorrow’s eagerly-awaited game at Castle Park (12.05).

I’m really looking forward to the game, especially with it being at Castle Park,” said the 22 year-old Zimbabwe-born back. “There will be a big crowd and there should be a great atmosphere and a great showcase for Castle Park.

“I think that it is a strong Championship side and we’ll be looking to put on a good show for the crowd, predicted to be over 4,000.

“I’ve played against a lot of the players in the team so I know what they can do, I obviously know all about Doncaster team-mate Tom Davies and it’s good to have him in the squad.”

Gavin Cattle will captain the side and will be hoping to last longer than he did on his last visit to Castle Park with the Cornish Pirates when he came off midway through the first half after taking a knock.

The tourists go into the second of their three matches in England having lost by four points against Premiership side Leicester on Tuesday.

“Having lost against Leicester I’m sure they’ll be keen to bounce back against us,” said Mama, in his first season at the club.

“We’ve had a couple of training sessions at the ground and we’ll be having another this afternoon,so we’ll be well prepared.”

Although having played for Zimbabwe at Under-18 and Under-20 level, Mama is still excited to be involved.

“It’s my first representative honour in England and I hope it won’t be the last,” he told The Star.
