Around 200 girls will descend on Castle Park on Friday evening for Doncaster Knights’ annual girls rugby festival.
The festival successfully launched last year and Knights are expecting another well supported event this time around.
Knights’ community manager Lisa Davis said: “We are expecting up to 200 girls from clubs all over Yorkshire including Darlington Mowden Park, Old Brodlians and Malton & Norton plus Mansfield from Nottinghamshire and Newark from Lincolnshire.
“Last season when we had our inaugural festival we had up to 150 girls, playing rugby in the freezing cold. This season we have already topped the number of players, we have brought it forward to try and beat the weather and have added a third age group.
“The festival kicks off on Friday between 6.30pm and 7pm and is due to finish around 8.30pm.
“All support will be greatly received. The bar and kitchen will both be open in the concourse to keep everyone going.”
