FANS favourite Chris Planchant will be back in the colours of Doncaster Knights next season after putting his injury nightmare behind him.
The powerful number eight made a big impact in the back row during his previous spell at Castle Park before a cruciate knee injury cut short his 2009/10 campaign.
Swansea-born Planchant underwent surgery and got his career back on track at North One East side Pontefract RUFC last season, going from strength to strength at the West Yorkshire club.
His form for the amateur side has persuaded Knights boss Brett Davey to bring Planchant back to Doncaster.
Davey said: “I’m absolutely delighted that Chris Planchant has returned to Championship level rugby.
“Planchant is a fantastic footballer, a tough competitor, a true warrior on the pitch and an absolute gentleman off it.
“I also wanted to say a heartfelt thanks to Pontefract Rugby Club for all they have done for Chris, it is these links within rugby that make us stronger.”
