Promoted Doncaster Toll Bar warmed up for the start of their Pennine League Championship One campaign with a 62-8 win over RAF Leeming.
Gaz Carey (2), Phil Harrison, Aidan King, Karl Mills, Wayne Green, Wayne Rafferty, Jordan King, Joel Dilley, Craig Lawton and Kieran Cross all touched down.
Harrison (5) and Green (4) kicked nine conversions between them.
“It was good to get back out on the field after last season’s successes and continue where we left off,” said coach Ian Tattersall.
“With a number of players missing it was a good opportunity to see some new combinations and new players.
“We’ve recruited some quality players in the off-season and I was delighted with their impact on the team.
“But the most pleasing performance was that of Jordan King who returned after suffering a terrible injury just before the start of last season.
“It’s been a tough time for him as a young lad who just loves the sport.
“He was outstanding and came through the game with no problems.
“The other pleasing performance was that of sixteen-year-old prop Jack Horton, who was making his senior debut.
“He stood up well and didn’t look out of place.”
