THE Dons demolished promotion rivals Rochdale to go top of Co-operative Championship One.

Tony Miller’s side ran in seven tries as they produced their best performance of the season at Spotland.

Mike Kelly and Lee Waterman both touched twice to help Doncaster make easy work of it in windswept conditions.

Paul Cooke, Kyle Kesik and Craig Fawcett also got on the trysheet, while Tom Hodson kicked five goals.

Dons coach Tony Miller said: “It was a complete performance.

“Rochdale is always a tough place to go but defensively we were outstanding, as we were offensively.”

Dons face Rochdale again this Sunday in the return fixture at the Keepmoat Stadium (3pm).

Dons: Butterfield, Colton, Cowling, Waterman, Hodson, Cooke, Fawcett, Castle, Kesik, O’Loughlin, Lawton, Kelly, Edwards: Subs: Powley, Sanderson, Welsh, Ely.
