London Skolars 22 Doncaster 42

THE Dons chalked up their fourth win in a row to climb to second spot in the early Championship 1 table but the match was marred by a mass brawl near the end.

It led to Skolars’ coach Joe Mbu and Dons’ winger Ashley Williams, who was on the bench but not in the playing squad, being sent off and put on report.

The incident started following a clash between Dean Colton and former Dons winger Ade Adebisi in front of the dugouts.

Players, substitutes and coaching staff became involved in what turned into a melee and the incident is to be investigated by the Rugby League.

On the field it was the home side that made a much better start to take a 16-6 lead before Doncaster got their act together to such an extent that they led 24-16 at the interval.

Half back Scott Spaven was again a major points contributor chalking up 22 with a couple of tries and seven goals.

On loan forward Chris Green also scored two tries with Mick Butterfield, Ryan Steen, and Stu Sanderson adding to the tally as the Dons clocked up more than 40 points for the second week in a row.

* The Dons have been drawn at home to Super League opposition in the fourth round of the Challenge Cup and will play Wakefield Wildcats at the Keepmoat stadium on May 8.
