The Dons were drawn away to fellow League One side University of Gloucestershire All Golds in last night’s fourth round draw, made in Plymouth.

The Dons, who will also travel to face the All Golds in their final League One game of the regular season in July, ran out 40-8 winners when the two sides met at the Keepmoat Stadium last March.

Dons boss Gary Thornton, who has injury concerns over several players, didn’t spend too much time thinking about the forthcoming tie ahead of last night’s training session.

“We’ve made no secret of the fact that the league is our number one priority this year and all we are thinking about tonight is our first league game of the season on Sunday against Coventry Bears,” he told The Star.

“We’re not going to win the Challenge Cup but we’ll enjoy it while we are involved and hopefully get through the next round and then draw a big club, though I don’t want anything to detract from trying to get back into the Championship.”

Thornton was unhappy with the team’s attacking play in Sunday’s 34-8 third round win over amateurs Myton Warriors, and is concentrating on that aspect of the game in training this week.

“I thought we were solid defensively, particularly on our own line, but I thought we were awful in attack at times,” he said.

“We tended to over complicate things and lacked a bit of cohesion and fluidity at times.

“While we got away with it on Sunday we won’t do against Coventry this weekend.”

Other notable ties see Sheffield travel to Hull KR, Bradford host Featherstone and Toronto go to London Broncos.
