DONCASTER Rugby League Club have received a financial boost less than a month before they kick-off their 2013 pre-season campaign with Bentley-based Green Energy Solutions UK Ltd having renewed their sponsorship for next year.
Green Energy Solutions have been sponsors of the Dons since the end of the 2009 season when the club was taken over by the present owners.
“I’m thrilled that Green Energy Solutions have joined us for another season and I’d like to thank the directors for their continued loyalty,” said Dons chief executive Carl Hall.
“I’ve been a Dons’ fan all of my life and it really is a great time to be involved with the club,” said managing director, Marcus Payne. “The Dons have made massive strides in the last three years which has culminated in them winning the Championship One title last season.
“The management, coaching staff and players deserve a massive pat on the back for their hard work over the last few years and they’ve put the town back on the sporting map and I’m looking forward to the new season and would like to wish the Dons all the very best for their 2013 campaign in the Championship.”
The Dons kick-off their Championship campaign with a home game against Dewsbury Rams on February 3. The game is expected to see the return to the Keepmoat Stadium of Wakefield prop Ross Spiers, who played for the Dons on dual-registration last season.
Dons head coach Tony Miller had been hoping to retain his services after he was released by the Super League club at the end of last season, but Rams are thought to have offered him a better financial package.
Miller, meanwhile, is still trying to arrange a pre-season friendly for January 13, ahead of games against Keighley and Wakefield.
