HUNDREDS of folk put on their running shoes to take part in a new race aiming to become a major event in the north of England’s athletics calendar.
Athletes from across the country descended on the borough for the inaugural Brooks Run Doncaster 10k.
Around 700 participants took part in the race which started and finished at Doncaster Racecourse.
However, it was not all serious runners who took to the streets, with hundreds of people of all ages and businesses signing up to a fun run and corporate challenge around the racecourse.
The Doncaster Council backed event was organised by Metre to Miles based in Epworth High Street.
