Wheatley Golf Club won the annual men’s Danum Cup competition for the fifth time in as many years.
Wheatley finished with a gross score of 627 strokes with Doncaster Town Moor, who hosted the event, finishing runners-up with 629.
Doncaster (631) were third.
Keelan Lowe (Wheatley) recorded the best Division One gross score (65) with Town Moor’s Jason Chapman (79) taking the honours in Division Two.
M Smith (Town Moor) and P Elwis (Doncaster) posted a score of 49 points to win Town Moor’s Senior Open Betterball Stableford last Wednesday.
D Chadwick (Town Moor) and D Roberts (Phoenix) were runners-up with 44 points. Town Moor duo M Nuttall and N Storey (44) were third.
Leslie Wood (41 points) won Wheatley’s football sweep stableford.
Club members are mourning the recent loss of past lady captain Val Sumner.
Ken Hall (42 points) won Thornhurst Park’s Captain’s Cup major semi-final on Saturday.
Bocca Stephens (40) was runner-up with Colin Woodhouse (37) claiming third spot.
Norman Riley (gross 94 nett 70) pipped Stephens (gross 88 nett 70) to win the club’s monthly medal tournament on Friday.
Michael Palmer (gross 91 nett 71) was third.
