THE youngsters of Wheatley Golf Club staked their claim to be the cream of the crop in the town after lifting the Danum Cup.
Wheatley triumphed over Bawtry, Doncaster and hosts Town Moor golf clubs in the annual team event for teams of six U18 golfers with handicaps below 20.
It was a convincing win for Wheatley who carded an impressive 353 strokes.
Doncaster were second with 381, ahead of Bawtry with 391 and Town Moor with 439.
The best individual score came from Bawtry’s Ben Brewster with a 72 gross after some exceptional golf from the 17-year-old.
Golfers from 12 to 18 took part, demonstrating great spirit regardless of ability.
Town Moor put on an excellent event with ball spotters and markers placed throughout the course while near neighbours Asda provided snacks at the halfway house.
All participants attended a presentation and meal in the clubhouse following the event.
