Armthorpe Swimming Club have made a splash in a hotly-contested event to retain borough bragging rights, writes Hayley Paterson.
The club won the Bridon Shield team relay championship once again after fending off a host of other Doncaster swimming clubs to lift the coveted title.
Armthorpe had more than 50 swimmers aged between seven and 37 who helped the side retain the shield.
And they did it emphatically after leading from the first session as, despite several close finishes, the team showed discipline throughout to land the gong and a host of individual PBs.
The club are now getting behind former member Sophie Taylor who is swimming for the City of Leeds and has been selected for the GB squad to compete in the Commonwealth Games this summer.
Taylor recently won three national titles in Glasgow following success in the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke.
Her 100m swim was also one of the fastest in the Commonwealth this year.
