scorpion Taekwondo took the sting out of the opposition to win two more medals at the Parks Cup in Germany.

Bessacarr’s reigning British champion Niall Gibson won his first senior international medal at this month’s event by claiming bronze in the male -63kg category.

Emily Watson, of Hatfield, also won a silver medal to round off an impressive year.

The duo both hope to represent Great Britain again next year, while Sheffield Hallam University student Gibson is also eyeing gold at the 2013 university championships.

Gibson, 19, has had a memorable year after winning a Commonwealth silver medal in India in February.

Watson, meanwhile, became a junior British champion at -46kg for the second time in September and also medalled at last month’s Croatian Open.
