Danum School finished seventh at the girls’ national tennis finals.

After winning the Yorkshire section by beating several independent schools, Danum found it tough going in the final 8s at Bolton Arena - but head of PE Dave Richardson said his team could be proud of their efforts.

“The girls conducted themselves in a sporting and competitive way throughout the event and were a credit to Danum and Doncaster,” he said.

“We came seventh overall in the country in a tournament open to every school in the UK.

“This is the second national finals that Danum have made in the last year with the boys making the national championships last June.”
