DONCASTER Mustangs remain in contention for the play-offs after a comfortable 28-6 win over Gateshead Senators.
But the margin of victory could have been greater were it not for a performance littered with mistakes and penalties.
Mark Maguire barrelled his way into the endzone from two yards out to give Doncaster a 6-0 lead in the first quarter and Brian Long added the two extra points.
A text book play put the Mustangs further in front when quarterback Graham Lightfoot unleashed a pinpoint pass for wide receiver Martyn Lee to score from 49 yards.
Gateshead touched down at the start of the third but scores from Martin Pepper and Lee made sure of Doncaster’s fourth win of the BAFL season.
Mustangs, second in the table, go to third placed East Kilbride Pirates this weekend.
