DONCASTER Mustangs made it two wins out of two in the BAFL with a 34-6 triumph at Gateshead Senators.
Touchdowns came courtesy of Martyn Lee, Jeremiah Jordan, Sam Gennings, Mark Maguire and Graham Lightfoot.
After a five week lay off, the Mustangs looked anything but rusty as they dominated the first half of play.
They opened the scoring in the first quarter when Lee found the endzone from 15 yards for a 6-0 lead, before Jordan scored on a one yard run and also added the two extra points in the second period.
On the next drive Gennings picked off a wayward Gateshead pass and returned it 31 yards for the score and a 20-0 heading for half time.
Gateshead gave themselves a chance by completing a long pass into the endzone to reduce the margin to 20-6 at the half way stage.
But Maguire’s two yard score in the fourth quarter and Lightfoot’s touchdown straight from the restart secured a comfortable win for the Mustangs.
Mustangs host Yorkshire Rams on Sunday at the Keepmoat Stadium athletics arena (2.30pm).
