DONCASTER will be centre stage for the country’s best motocross racers this weekend when Armthorpe’s FatCat Motoparc hosts round two of the Red Bull Pro Nationals series.

Four Grand Prix winners are among the high quality field ready to battle it out in the Pro MX1 class, while White Rose hopeful Jake Millward will be among the rookies competing for the Red Bull Elite Youth Cup.

“I’m really looking forward to FatCat because it’s just about 25 minutes down the road from me so it’s my local track,” said 18-year-old Millward, from Sheffield.

“All of the fastest riders in the UK ride the Red Bull Elite Youth Cup so everyone goes there knowing that they are riding against the best competition there is and that brings all of the riders on.”

This weekend’s event, held over Saturday and Sunday, will feature freestyle motocross and mountain bike trials displays, while families can also visit the Kidzone, attempt Zorbing or try a Suzuki Motocross Experience

Matt Bates, managing director of series promoters Events 22, said: “It’s exciting to be returning to Doncaster and the FatCat Motoparc as it really is one of the best all round facilities in the UK.

“We’ve listened to feedback from our inaugural year at the venue in 2011 and have made some huge leaps forward in creating an event for the entire family.”

FatCat Motoparc is found just off junction 4 of the M18 at Armthorpe.
