Ultimate Taekwondo has become one of just 10 taekwondo clubs in England to achieve Sport England’s highest quality club standard - the Clubmark Accreditation Certificate.
Clubmark demonstrates the high standards required to operate a friendly, open and quality club helping young people and adults achieve their goals.
Ultimate Taekwondo, based in Armthorpe, was formed in 1996 and now has more than 120 members of all ages. It is run by chief instructor and former Olympian Kathy Hook.
Hook said: “It’s amazing to be recognised as being a quality club and it makes all the hard work that has been put in over the years all worth it.”
Stuart Rogers, development manager at South Yorkshire Sport, said: “It is so important that we recognise sports clubs operating at a high standard.
“The clubs that we work with are brilliant at providing valuable sporting activities and Ultimate Taekwondo is a prime example of a sports club that has all the right things in place, a positive environment and inspires its members.”
