JAMIE Harrison shot a round of five under par to win the South Yorkshire Schools Championships at Hickleton Golf Club - and add yet another pot to Balby Academy’s bulging trophy cabinet.
Harrison went round in 66 to win the tournament - featuring 84 competitors from across the county - by three shots.
Balby’s Lewis Gill, who finished third in the singles, combined with Jamie McDonald and Joseph King to retain the team trophy, fending off Maltby School by one shot, to cap another memorable day for the Academy.
Earlier in the season Balby scooped both the Bassetlaw and Doncaster Schools trophies.
They are scheduled to play in the Yorkshire Schools Championships at Low Laithes Golf Club today, aiming to qualify for the English Schools Team Championships for the third year running.
Ian Lindley, director of Balby Golf Academy, said: “Yet again our students did us proud.
“They were excellent ambassadors for the academy and college, and continued to show the highest of standards expected of them both on and off the golf course.”
