Huge turnout expected for 10k race

MORE than 1,500 runners will take part in a 10k race around the town centre on Sunday, May 13.

The inaugural Brookes Run Doncaster 10k has been labelled the town’s first mass participation running event with entrants asked to raise sponsorship for the British Heart Foundation.

The race will take place over a fast and flat route which snakes past the racecourse, Town Fields and the town centre before returning to the racecourse.

Runners of all abilities will be taking part with entrants able to walk, jog or run the course.

A 2k family fun run will also take plae.

Entry for both races is still open at www.metrestomiles.co.uk.

* Roads will be closed around the town centre between 7am and 1pm on Sunday with diversions in place.
