DONCASTER Ladies failed in their bid to win promotion to Division One of the National Indoor League - but did not come away win-less from last weekend’s Super Sixes in Northampton.
The Town Field club got off to the worst possible start on Saturday as they conceded in the first minute of a 3-1 defeat to Firebrands.
They then conspired to throw away a three-goal lead to lose 4-3 to Lansdown, effectively ending their hopes of promotion.
Doncaster, however, returned the following day in determined mood and fought back from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 with Horsham before a 1-1 stalemate with St Albans.
They saved their best for last as goals from Lisa Garbutt, Harriet Naismith, Kirstie Grace and Emma Pledge gave them a 4-1 win over promoted East Grinstead.
