DONCASTER suffered a cruel 3-2 defeat at the hands of rivals Sheffield Hallam after conceding to a last minute penalty corner.

Richard Thomas’s side had led twice through David Dykes and Tim Shelley who struck either side of the interval.

But Hallam levelled twice courtesy of Phil Roper and Adam Harriman before Roper’s decisive last gasp goal.

The defeat means Doncaster are still looking to get off the mark in Conference North after another narrow defeat to Durham University a week earlier.

Doncaster’s ladies, meanwhile, earned their first points of the season with a 4-1 win at Ben Rhydding on Saturday.
