High flying Eagles on track for play-offs

Danum Eagles under 14s remain on course for a play-off spot after an emphatic 76-40 win at Gateshead Tornadoes.

Owen Bell led the scoring once again as he helped himself to 32 points, while Jay Burfield continued his good form with a nine-point haul.

The young Eagles find themselves in fourth place in the North East Conference, behind Sheffield Saints, Leeds Carnegie and Bradford Dragons with a record of 11 wins and five losses.

They host Bradford in a crucial league tussle on Saturday at Danum Academy (12pm).

n Eagles’ under 18s cemented top spot in their division with a win double over the weekend.

Derbyshire Arrows were put to the sword on Saturday as Danum ran out easy 99-55 victors, before a similarly comfortable 95-57 win over local rivals Rotherham Hawks on Sunday.

Liam Knapp was top points scorer in both games, with Adam Wood, Sam Speight and George Darling also playing key roles.
